So what is floating or float therapy?
Floating is essentially allowing a state of deep mental and physical relaxation by spending up to 90 minutes suspended quietly in darkness,
Without any effort you can alleviate pain, accelerate healing, de-stress and improve sleep, all while you lay peacefully in a unique sensory reduced environment.
Float tanks are helpful for...
REST & RELAXATION
RECOVERY & REHABILITATION
HEALTH & WELL BEING
CREATIVITY & LEARNING
How does float therapy work?
Floatation therapy is the result of decades of mainstream scientific research in human performance and wellness.
It involves being in an environment that is specifically designed for our bodies to experience freedom from gravity and all stimulation of the outside world.
This is done by laying in a pod of super-saturated magnesium sulfate water that allows us to be completely buoyant.
The water is regulated near body temperature and the floating space is virtually sound and lightproof.
In this environment the mind starts to deeply relax, the body releases its tensions
and magnesium sulfates are absorbed through the skin.
Our well-being is influenced, both inside and out.
The effects of floating are cumulative; the more regular we float, the better it is for our physical recovery and
mental health.
What's the experience of floating like?
No two floats are ever the same, so it is important to come free of expectation during your float experience.
ā
However we will do our best to describe aspects of the process.
ā
The first float experience may range from feelings of euphoria to boredom. In many cases it usually takes 2 - 3 floats to get the hang of relaxing the mind deeply, especially if you already struggle to relax. The float tank is no one quick fix but rather a practise much like meditation or yoga.
ā
ā
Once the disintegration process is complete you may imagine;
Floating effortlessly in a private, warm and peaceful environment, as the smooth salty water holds up your entire body. Allowing your muscles to relax and your spine to lengthen, allowing you to fully let go of the outside world that constantly bombards us with sensory stimuli.
ā
The water is heated to body temperature, making it hard to feel where your skin ends and the water meets.
ā
Floating in this unique environment can be a very personal and introspective journey,
And the experience will be different for every individual,
You can choose from dimmed lights or complete darkness, you can listen to music or have complete silence, either way, our float pods will leave you feeling relaxed and well rested.
Our Tranquility pods are the only float tanks in Perth with motorized doors which can be controlled to any height with a simple push of the button.
Be prepared for the post float feelings to follow you around all day, if not your whole week, and beyond!
